Adolf was born in Ramsjömåla, Bräkne-Hoby parish in Blekinge Sweden. He was the youngest of six siblings.
He moved to Förslev, Denmark in 1905, together with his two sisters, Anna and Alma. His where abouts between 1907-1911 are some what uncertain since the information in different sources are contradictory. He bought a ticket from Denmark to the US in 1911. The prize for the ticket was 267 DKK, roughly equal to a 6 months salary for a 'normal' worker. It equals $ 3050 in todays (Dec. 2013) currency.See pictures below.
Adolf was 160 cm tall, stocky built, blond with brown eyes according to the Danish working permit.
He traveled with his sister Alma and her Danish husband Hans Christian Hansen who came from Förslev. Their destination was New Orleans, Louisiana in order to meet up with Adolf's older brother Frithiof.

Adolf, Emma and her children were living in Eagle Creek, OR in 1935 as well as in 1940. They were living at a farm owned by Adolf. Emma's son Carl, was earning more money, as a woodcutter, in 1940 than Adolf did as a farmer. Adolf earned $ 150 and Carl $ 160 according to the 1940 census.
Adolf got married to Mabel P Poland in June 1944.
Adolf and Mabel didn't have any mutual children.
Adolf died in West Linn, Oregon on 4th of June 1978. He was buried at Colombian Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
