Emma was born in Veberöd, Skåne, Sweden. She is the oldest of 4 siblings of which 2 are half siblings.
Emma's mother died in 1889 when Emma was 6 years old and her father remarried the year after.
Emma immigrated in 1902 and made a visit to Sweden in 1906. She most likely had the intention to stay in Sweden since she registered to stay. But she returned again to the US in 1907. She sails from Liverpool, UK with SS Adriartic May 8 1907 and arrived at Ellis Island May 16th.
At Ellis Island she is registered as a “non immigrant”, that she is going to a friend in Chicago, she is 5 foot 6 tall, blond and blue eyes and at good health.
She lived in Chicago in 1910.

She moves back to Portland, OR after her husbands death and started a boarding house business. Her brother in law Adolf helped her with the business. After a couple of years Adolf suggests that they shall move to the country side. They move to Barton, OR, some 15 miles east of Portland.
She lives in Eagle Creek, Oregon in 1940.
She got her US citizenship in 1940.
She died of a stroke in Portland, OR May 9 1950. She had diabetes.
Emma was buried at Lincoln Memorial Park Portland, Oregon.
