Frithiof was born at Kvarnamåla, Backaryd parish in Blekinge Sweden. He was the second oldest among 6 siblings. He and his family moved around a lot during his childhood and youth. The family moved to Bökenäs, Listerby parish in 1896, which was to become his parents last home.
Frithiof, together with his two brothers Oskar Julius and Emil moved, from the parent's home, to Ronneby in 1900. Frithof moved on, together with brother Emil, to Tving in Blekinge while brother Oskar Julius stayed in Ronneby and got married to his cousin Alma Leander.
Frithiof decided to emigrate to the US in 1905. Emil was also noted for emigration in the church book but this note was crossed over. Emil showed up shortly after in Listerby.
It is hard to exactly find out how Frithiof left Sweden. Normally the emigrants were registered, upon departure, by the the police in the departing harbors. But Frithiof wasn't.

Frithiof left Liverpool, UK, on-board S/S Philadelphia on March 18, 1905 and arrived at Ellis Island, New York March 25. His final destination, according to the registration manifest, was Casselton, North Dakota. He had a traveling mate, Gust Olsson who was going to his brother, living in Casselton, ND. Frithiof most likely had no where to go so he just followed Gust. See pictures below.
The next trace of Frithiof is when he is working as a carpenter in New Orleans, Lousiana in 1911. His brother Adolf and sister Alma immigrated this year and met up with him here.

Frithiof eventually moved to Portland, Oregon. He married Emma Velander 1913. The couple moved to Seattle, Washington where Edith Maria was born in 1914. The Swansons moved to Medford, Oregon where Carl is born in 1917. Back to Tacoma, Washington where they are registered in 1918. They lived at 2347 1/2 South Tacoma Ave.
The family moved on to Sidney, Montana around 1920. Their third child, Edna was born here in 1921. According to Edna herself, she was born in a little burg just south of Sidney. Frithiof wasn't too fond of the freezing cold winters of Montana and had plans to move to Florida. But this never happened. Maybe his illness put a stop to those dreams.
Frithiof got ill from a liver disease. He had a surgery , done by H H Parsons on March 13 1924 but died the following evening at 6 pm.
