Jenny was born in the small town of Södra Sandsjö, Småland in Sweden. The same town as her future husband, Hjalmar came from. Her father was working as a church tenant and they lived next door to the church. Hjalmar's sister Amanda and her family also lived next door. So Jenny most likely new Hjalmar, while living in Sweden.
Jenny applied for moving to America in the fall of 1907. The application had to be submitted to the reverend of the church. It was the responsibility of the church to keep track of people in those days.
Jenny ended up in Chicago. She changed her name to Jennie after arriving to the US. She met Hjalmar when he arrived in 1910. They married August 12 1911. They had three children:
Arne born 1912.
Herbert born 1913.
Jeanette born 1915.
