She got married to Adolf Swanson in June 1944. Most of the children were grown and left home before Adolf wed her. Mabel and Adolf didn't have any children. There may have been one or two children that Adolf helped raise.
Mabel and Adolf lived in Portland, OR and also along the coast in Seaside, Oregon.
My cousin Murray Swanson remembers, "Adolf and Mable lived in many houses, here in Portland, and at the coast, as Adolf would buy a fixer-upper, fix it, live in it and then sell it and start over with another fixer-upper. They lived for a long time in Seaside, Oregon, on the coast, about 2 hours by modern highway from Portland. When I was young, Mom, dad and I would go visit them and go clam digging in the mornings on the beach. Then we'd go home and aunt Mable would fry up the clams for breakfast or lunch. She never ate them herself, because she didn't like the taste. I loved them. I have fond memories of Adolf and Mabel."
She died of old age 29 Nov 1972.
She and Adolf are buried in Portland, Oregon.
